The large bright violet flowers with larger outer petals and a domed center cushion of smaller flowers bloom on stiff stems nearly year round from mid spring through summer. Grows best in full sun and well drained soils, but tolerates part sun in hot southern climates. Intolerant of wet soils, especially in winter.
